Lisa Shaia

Yoga has been a steady thread in my life since college - sometimes showing up as a physical challenge, sometimes as a way to heal, and always as a space to come home to myself. It's helped me recover from surgery, manage emotions & feel better in my body & mind. As someone who’s been teaching children for over 20 years, I earned my yoga certification in 2018 with the goal of sharing mindfulness with younger generations. My classes are filled with imaginative flows & playful energy to reconnect you with your inner child. Sanctuary has been my grounding space through all of life’s seasons & I’m grateful to be part of this vibrant community.

Lisa Shaia instructs the following:
  • Ready to Grow Kids Yoga (ages preschool -5)
  • This playful preschool class introduces young children to the joy of movement, listening, and mindfulness in a welcoming, age-appropriate way. Through animal poses, breathing games, singalongs, and storytelling, we’ll practice important school-readiness skills like following directions, taking turns, and staying present—all while having lots of fun.

We’ll introduce a mini version of the Sun Salutation using simple motions and catchy music like “Hello to the Sun” by Bari Koral to support memory, rhythm, and coordination. Songs and movement games will keep little bodies engaged while planting the seeds of focus and calm. Each class ends with a hands-on creative project to help little yogis settle down and reflect.

This series runs on set dates. We’re unable to offer makeups for missed classes, including due to illness. Thanks for understanding! Drop-ins are allowed as well, but advance sign up helps a lot with planning. It will be held in the studio (in a different room) as the same time as our adult class!
